Monroe County Fair Celebrates a Successful Week of Competition, Community and Tradition

The 2026 Monroe County Fair concluded another successful year as families, exhibitors, volunteers, and community members came together July 12-17 for a week celebrating agriculture, youth, and hometown tradition under this year's theme, "Stars, Stripes & Showrings."
The week officially opened on Sunday, July 12, with the Ham and Bacon Check-In, setting the stage for a full schedule of livestock competitions and activities. The Horse Show was rescheduled to July 17 due to the arena conditions.
The Cured Meat Competition showcased the quality and skill of local exhibitors, with outstanding entries recognized in both the bacon and ham divisions.
In the Bacon competition, Mason Bergthold earned Grand Champion honors, while Carter McGee was named Reserve Champion.
In the Ham competition, Evelynn Doerhoff received the title of Grand Champion, with Charlie Doerhoff earning Reserve Champion.
Events continued on Monday with the Poultry Show, exhibit check-in, 4-H Royalty competition, Baby Show, Dog Show, and an evening dance that brought exhibitors and community members together for fun outside the show ring.
The Monroe County Fair Poultry Show featured strong competition from exhibitors across northeast Missouri as youth showcased a variety of standard and bantam chickens, waterfowl, market poultry, and specialty classes. Participants demonstrated the knowledge, care, and dedication required to raise quality birds throughout the year.
In the Standard Cockerel class, Avery Nichols of Paris earned first place, followed by Chase Stuart of Perry and Lane Adkins of Ethel.
The Bantam Cockerel class was won by Lane Adkins of Ethel, with Kolton Craven of Wellsville placing second and Chase Stuart of Perry finishing third.
In the Standard Pullet division, Blake Gates of Cairo claimed first place. Chase Stuart of Perry, Kolton Craven of Wellsville, and Adrianna Craven of Wellsville also received top placings.
The Bantam Pullet class was led by Blake Gates of Cairo, followed by Chase Stuart of Perry and Lane Adkins of Ethel.
Owen Harrison of Madison earned top honors in the Standard Cock class, with Kolton Craven of Wellsville, Lane Adkins of Ethel, and Adrianna Craven of Wellsville also placing.
The Bantam Cock division was won by Lane Adkins of Ethel, while Blake Gates of Cairo and Owen Harrison of Madison rounded out the top three.
In the Standard Hen class, Kolton Craven of Wellsville received first place, followed by Adrianna Craven of Wellsville and Carson Umstattd of Thompson.
The Bantam Hen division was won by Blake Gates of Cairo, with Chase Stuart of Perry placing second and Owen Harrison of Madison third.
Group competitions also showcased the exhibitors' breeding programs. Chase Stuart of Perry earned first place in the Standard Pen of Three Young, followed by Adrianna Craven of Wellsville and Kolton Craven of Wellsville.
Chase Stuart of Perry also captured first place in both the Bantam Pen of Three Young and Bantam Pen of Three Old divisions.
The Standard Market Pen of Three class was won by Evelynn Doerhoff of Madison, with Raegan Doerhoff of Madison placing second and Emma Secrease of Paris finishing third.
In the Standard Waterfowl division, Kolton Craven of Wellsville earned first place, followed by Maddison Wilkins of Madison and Noah Devault of Mexico.
Special recognition was also given during the showmanship competitions, where exhibitors were judged on their knowledge, handling skills, and presentation of their birds.

The showmanship contests highlighted the dedication, knowledge, and hard work of the young exhibitors, who demonstrated excellent animal handling skills and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The 2026 Monroe County Fair Royalty Contest was held on July 13 at the 4-H Building on the Paris Fairgrounds, where contestants were recognized for their involvement in the fair and their communities before the new royalty was crowned.
Crowned as this year's fair royalty were Princess Adeline Bondy, Prince Mason Berthold, Queen Hadley Dodge, and King Jared Shuck.
Other contestants participating in this year's competition included Keaton Craigg, Lizzy Dameron, Jacob Fish, Penelope Kroeckel, Bram Secrease, Kasen Shuck, and Emily Conley.

Tuesday featured Rabbit and Beef Shows, highlighting the hard work and dedication exhibitors invested throughout the year in preparing their animals.
The Monroe County Fair Rabbit Show was held on July 14, showcasing quality rabbits and the dedication of exhibitors from across the area. Participants competed in breed, market, and showmanship classes throughout the morning.
In the Home Raised competition, Aaralynn Willard of Hunnewell claimed top honors in Class 1, while Dillion Miller of Vandalia earned first place in Class 2. Willard also won the popular Costume Contest.
Market classes featured outstanding competition as Audra Evans of Vandalia captured first place in the Single Fryer division, while Aaralynn Willard earned top honors in the Meat Pen (Three of a Kind) competition.
Breeding classes showcased a variety of quality rabbits throughout the day. Aaralynn Willard claimed first place in the 4-Class Senior Buck, 6-Class (6 - 8) Buck, 6-Class (6 - 8) Doe, and 6-Class Senior Doe divisions. Dillion Miller swept the remaining 4-Class divisions, winning the Senior Doe, Junior Buck, and Junior Doe classes.
Additional class winners included Blake Gates of Cairo, who earned first place in both the 6-Class Senior Buck and 6-Class Junior Doe divisions, while Isabella Tarpein of Monroe City captured the 6-Class Junior Buck title.
The show concluded with the always-popular Showmanship competition, where exhibitors were judged on their knowledge of rabbit care, handling ability, and presentation in the show ring.
Amaira Jennings of Vandalia earned top honors in the Pee Wee Showmanship division, while Audra Evans of Vandalia won the Intermediate Showmanship title. Abby Haas of Curryville was named Senior Showmanship winner before also earning the prestigious title of Champion Senior Showman. Blake Gates of Cairo received Reserve Champion Senior Showman honors.
The day's highest individual award, Best of Show Breeding Rabbit, was presented to Aaralynn Willard of Hunnewell, recognizing the outstanding quality of her breeding rabbit.

The Monroe County Fair Beef Show was held on July 14, bringing together exhibitors from across northeast Missouri to showcase outstanding breeding cattle and demonstrate their livestock knowledge and showmanship. Participants competed in a variety of breed and age divisions, with champion honors awarded throughout the evening.
In the Angus Breeding Heifer division, Courtney Deornellis of Centralia won the Senior Calf class, while Alovia Schulte claimed the Junior Yearling class ahead of Silas Utterback of Shelbina. Alovia Schulte was named Champion Angus Breeding Heifer, with Courtney Deornellis earning Reserve Champion honors.
The Charolais Percentage Breeding Heifer division featured Avery Bastian of Mexico, who won the Summer Yearling class and was named Champion Charolais Percentage Breeding Heifer.
The Hereford Breeding Heifer competition saw Jaden Decker of Centralia win the Summer Yearling class, Jensen Decker of Centralia take the Junior Yearling class, and Maesyn Decker of Centralia win the Senior Yearling class. Maesyn Decker was selected as Champion Hereford Breeding Heifer, with Jensen Decker named Reserve Champion.
In the Maine-Anjou Breeding Heifer division, Mason Bergthold of Paris won the Junior Yearling class over Maylee Bird of Paris, while Maylee Bird captured the Senior Yearling class. Mason Bergthold earned Champion Maine-Anjou Breeding Heifer, and Maylee Bird received Reserve Champion honors.
Bailey Middleton of Paris exhibited the winning entry in the Maintainer Breeding Heifer division and was named Champion Maintainer Breeding Heifer.
Alexa Groeber of Montgomery City won the Red Angus Breeding Heifer Senior Calf class and was named Champion Red Angus Breeding Heifer.
The Foundation Simmental Breeding Heifer division featured Truitt Barnes of Palmyra winning both the Junior Calf and Senior Calf classes, while Wyatt Bastian of Mexico won the Senior Yearling class. Wyatt Bastian was named Champion Foundation Simmental Breeding Heifer, with Truitt Barnes earning Reserve Champion.
The Simmental Breeding Heifer division included winners Kinslee Thompson of Monroe City, Ashlan Edwards of Fayette, Kinslee Thompson, Addison Aswald of Palmyra, and Brylee Thompson across the various classes. Ashlan Edwards received the division's top honor as Champion Simmental Breeding Heifer.
In the Crossbred Breeding Heifer division, Hunter Bergthold of Paris won the Summer Yearling class, while Jack Norfleet of Mexico captured the Junior Yearling class. Hunter Bergthold was named Champion Crossbred Breeding Heifer, and Jack Norfleet received Reserve Champion honors.

Exhibitors also competed in Beef Showmanship, where judges evaluated their ability to present and handle their animals in the show ring.
oo Waylon Bird earned top honors in the Pee Wee Showmanship division, demonstrating excellent enthusiasm and animal handling.
oo In the Junior Showmanship division, Lindley Witherow of Baring was selected as the class winner before also being named Champion Junior Showman. Avery Bastian earned Reserve Champion Junior Showman honors.
oo The Intermediate Showmanship division was led by Mason Bergthold, who claimed the class title and was subsequently named Champion Intermediate Showman. Landon Witherow received Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman honors.
oo In the Senior Showmanship competition, Jack Norfleet earned the class victory and was selected as Champion Senior Showman. Bailey Morgan was recognized as Reserve Champion Senior Showman.

Competition continued Wednesday at the Monroe County Fair with the annual Goat Show, where exhibitors demonstrated the quality of their animals and their dedication to livestock production and care. Youth from across northeast Missouri competed in dairy, pygmy, breeding, market, and showmanship classes.
In the Dairy Buck division, Payton Magruder of Clarence won the class for bucks born before January 1, 2026, while Larissa Larrick of Shelbina captured the class for bucks born before January 2, 2026. Larissa Larrick was named Overall Champion Dairy Buck, with Payton Magruder earning Reserve Champion honors.
The Dairy Doe competition featured Owen Kroes of Bevier winning the dry doe class for animals born April 1, 2025, or after, while Larissa Larrick won the senior doe class. Owen Kroes received Overall Champion Dairy Doe, and Larissa Larrick was named Reserve Champion Dairy Doe.
In the Pygmy Goat division, Peyson Larrick of Shelbina earned Reserve Champion Pygmy Doe and Champion Pygmy Buck honors.
The Breeding Doe classes were won by Jared Shuck of Perry (4 - 6 months), Finley Asbury of Perry (6 - 9 months), and Jacob Hayhurst (1 year). Champion Breeding Doe honors went to Finley Asbury, while Sawyer Asbury earned Reserve Champion. Additional overall placings included Jared Shuck in third, Harper Bondy in fourth, and Dax Dodge in fifth.
In the Breeding Buck division, Hadley Dodge won the 4 - 6 month class, while Jacob Hayhurst won the 1-year-old class. Hadley Dodge was selected as Champion Buck, with Jenna Snider receiving Reserve Champion honors.
The Market Goat competition featured class winners Hunter Buckman of Shelbina, Lorah Dodge, Anna James of Palmyra, Mackenzi Sclabach of Paris, Tatum Asbury of Perry, Sawyer Asbury of Perry, Averie Isgrig of Mexico, and Ryder Wren of Madison. Sawyer Asbury also won the Home Raised Market Goat class.
The show concluded with Showmanship competition, recognizing exhibitors for their ability to present and handle their animals in the show ring.

Judges evaluated the quality, structure, and overall presentation of breeding ewes and rams representing numerous breeds before selecting overall champions.
In the Dorper division, Levi Thompson of Fulton claimed top honors throughout the competition. Thompson won the Yearling Breeding Ewe class and was named Champion Dorper Breeding Ewe. He also won both the Yearling and Senior Lamb Breeding Ram classes, earning both Champion and Reserve Champion Dorper Breeding Ram honors.
The Dorset division featured Trenton Lauer of Fulton, who won the Junior Lamb Breeding Ewe class and was named Champion Dorset Breeding Ewe. Mackenzie Lauer of Fulton earned Reserve Champion Dorset Breeding Ewe, while Nolen Winkler of Clifton Hill captured the Junior Lamb Breeding Ram class and was named Champion Dorset Breeding Ram.
The Katahdin division showcased strong competition. Gage Schmidt of Centralia won the Yearling Breeding Ewe class, Kasen Shuck of Perry claimed the Senior Lamb class, and Ariella Clampitt of Madison won the Junior Lamb class. Kasen Shuck was selected as Champion Katahdin Breeding Ewe, while Gage Schmidt earned Reserve Champion honors. Schmidt also swept the Breeding Ram division by winning the Yearling, Senior Lamb, and Junior Lamb classes before being named both Champion and Reserve Champion Katahdin Breeding Ram.
Etta Eckler of Shelbyville won the Natural Colored Breeding Ewe division and was named champion.
In the Shropshire division, Lane Falch of Fulton dominated the competition, winning the Yearling, Senior Lamb, and Junior Lamb classes before earning both Champion and Reserve Champion Shropshire Breeding Ewe honors.
The Southdown division was led by Cooper Belt of Leonard, who swept the breeding ewe classes and was named both Champion and Reserve Champion Southdown Breeding Ewe. Belt also won the Senior Lamb Breeding Ram class and earned Champion Southdown Breeding Ram, while Etta Eckler received Reserve Champion Southdown Breeding Ram honors.
Gunner Schmidt of Centralia captured both Textile Breeding Ewe classes and the Textile Breeding Ram class to earn Champion Textile Breeding Sheep honors.
In the All Other Meat Breeding Ewe division, Aaralynn Willard was named Champion.
The Whiteface Cross Breeding Ewe division saw Keller O'Bryan of Philadelphia earn Champion honors, with Adeline Bondy of Paris receiving Reserve Champion.
The Crossbred Breeding Ewe division featured multiple class winners, with Keller O'Bryan ultimately being named Champion and Reserve Champion Crossbred Breeding Ewe.

One of the busiest days of the Monroe County Fair got Thursday underway with the annual Swine Show, followed later in the day by the Master Showman Contest, where top exhibitors showcased their livestock knowledge and handling abilities across multiple species.
The Swine Show featured competition in boar, gilt, and crossbred classes, with exhibitors from across northeast Missouri competing for breed and overall championship honors.
In the Boar competition, Brody Griffith of Centralia won the Hampshire January Boar class and was named Champion Hampshire Boar. Tucker Robnett of Laddonia captured the Yorkshire Senior Boar class and earned the title of Champion Yorkshire Boar.
Following the breed championships, Brody Griffith was selected as Grand Champion Boar, while Tucker Robnett received Reserve Grand Champion Boar honors.
The Berkshire Gilt division featured class winners Anniston Curtis of Thompson, Klara Adams of Centralia, Maylee Tiemann of Hallsville, and Pearson Bohr of Martinsburg. Anniston Curtis earned Champion Berkshire Gilt, while Makayla McCurdy of Wellsville was named Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt.
In the Duroc Gilt division, Brenden Johnson of Centralia won the December Gilt class, while Colton Lute captured the January Gilt class. Brenden Johnson was named Champion Duroc Gilt, with Addison Fish of Shelbina receiving Reserve Champion honors.
The Hampshire Gilt title went to Meridyth Wise of Vandalia, while Makayla McCurdy earned Reserve Champion Hampshire Gilt.
Brody Griffith claimed the Champion Poland China Gilt title after winning the Poland China December Gilt class.
In the Spot Gilt division, Greenley Curtis of Thompson earned Champion Spot Gilt, with Brock Watson of Lentner receiving Reserve Champion honors.
Tucker Robnett won the Yorkshire Senior Gilt class and was named Champion Yorkshire Gilt.
The All Other Breeds (AOB) division was won by Klara Adams, who earned Champion AOB Gilt.

The showmanship contests highlighted the dedication, knowledge, and hard work of the young exhibitors, who demonstrated excellent animal handling skills and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
The 2026 Monroe County Fair Royalty Contest was held on July 13 at the 4-H Building on the Paris Fairgrounds, where contestants were recognized for their involvement in the fair and their communities before the new royalty was crowned.
Crowned as this year's fair royalty were Princess Adeline Bondy, Prince Mason Berthold, Queen Hadley Dodge, and King Jared Shuck.
Other contestants participating in this year's competition included Keaton Craigg, Lizzy Dameron, Jacob Fish, Penelope Kroeckel, Bram Secrease, Kasen Shuck, and Emily Conley.

Tuesday featured Rabbit and Beef Shows, highlighting the hard work and dedication exhibitors invested throughout the year in preparing their animals.
The Monroe County Fair Rabbit Show was held on July 14, showcasing quality rabbits and the dedication of exhibitors from across the area. Participants competed in breed, market, and showmanship classes throughout the morning.
In the Home Raised competition, Aaralynn Willard of Hunnewell claimed top honors in Class 1, while Dillion Miller of Vandalia earned first place in Class 2. Willard also won the popular Costume Contest.
Market classes featured outstanding competition as Audra Evans of Vandalia captured first place in the Single Fryer division, while Aaralynn Willard earned top honors in the Meat Pen (Three of a Kind) competition.
Breeding classes showcased a variety of quality rabbits throughout the day. Aaralynn Willard claimed first place in the 4-Class Senior Buck, 6-Class (6 - 8) Buck, 6-Class (6 - 8) Doe, and 6-Class Senior Doe divisions. Dillion Miller swept the remaining 4-Class divisions, winning the Senior Doe, Junior Buck, and Junior Doe classes.
Additional class winners included Blake Gates of Cairo, who earned first place in both the 6-Class Senior Buck and 6-Class Junior Doe divisions, while Isabella Tarpein of Monroe City captured the 6-Class Junior Buck title.
The show concluded with the always-popular Showmanship competition, where exhibitors were judged on their knowledge of rabbit care, handling ability, and presentation in the show ring.
Amaira Jennings of Vandalia earned top honors in the Pee Wee Showmanship division, while Audra Evans of Vandalia won the Intermediate Showmanship title. Abby Haas of Curryville was named Senior Showmanship winner before also earning the prestigious title of Champion Senior Showman. Blake Gates of Cairo received Reserve Champion Senior Showman honors.
The day's highest individual award, Best of Show Breeding Rabbit, was presented to Aaralynn Willard of Hunnewell, recognizing the outstanding quality of her breeding rabbit.

The Monroe County Fair Beef Show was held on July 14, bringing together exhibitors from across northeast Missouri to showcase outstanding breeding cattle and demonstrate their livestock knowledge and showmanship. Participants competed in a variety of breed and age divisions, with champion honors awarded throughout the evening.
In the Angus Breeding Heifer division, Courtney Deornellis of Centralia won the Senior Calf class, while Alovia Schulte claimed the Junior Yearling class ahead of Silas Utterback of Shelbina. Alovia Schulte was named Champion Angus Breeding Heifer, with Courtney Deornellis earning Reserve Champion honors.
The Charolais Percentage Breeding Heifer division featured Avery Bastian of Mexico, who won the Summer Yearling class and was named Champion Charolais Percentage Breeding Heifer.
The Hereford Breeding Heifer competition saw Jaden Decker of Centralia win the Summer Yearling class, Jensen Decker of Centralia take the Junior Yearling class, and Maesyn Decker of Centralia win the Senior Yearling class. Maesyn Decker was selected as Champion Hereford Breeding Heifer, with Jensen Decker named Reserve Champion.
In the Maine-Anjou Breeding Heifer division, Mason Bergthold of Paris won the Junior Yearling class over Maylee Bird of Paris, while Maylee Bird captured the Senior Yearling class. Mason Bergthold earned Champion Maine-Anjou Breeding Heifer, and Maylee Bird received Reserve Champion honors.
Bailey Middleton of Paris exhibited the winning entry in the Maintainer Breeding Heifer division and was named Champion Maintainer Breeding Heifer.
Alexa Groeber of Montgomery City won the Red Angus Breeding Heifer Senior Calf class and was named Champion Red Angus Breeding Heifer.
The Foundation Simmental Breeding Heifer division featured Truitt Barnes of Palmyra winning both the Junior Calf and Senior Calf classes, while Wyatt Bastian of Mexico won the Senior Yearling class. Wyatt Bastian was named Champion Foundation Simmental Breeding Heifer, with Truitt Barnes earning Reserve Champion.
The Simmental Breeding Heifer division included winners Kinslee Thompson of Monroe City, Ashlan Edwards of Fayette, Kinslee Thompson, Addison Aswald of Palmyra, and Brylee Thompson across the various classes. Ashlan Edwards received the division's top honor as Champion Simmental Breeding Heifer.
In the Crossbred Breeding Heifer division, Hunter Bergthold of Paris won the Summer Yearling class, while Jack Norfleet of Mexico captured the Junior Yearling class. Hunter Bergthold was named Champion Crossbred Breeding Heifer, and Jack Norfleet received Reserve Champion honors.

oo Waylon Bird earned top honors in the Pee Wee Showmanship division, demonstrating excellent enthusiasm and animal handling.
oo In the Junior Showmanship division, Lindley Witherow of Baring was selected as the class winner before also being named Champion Junior Showman. Avery Bastian earned Reserve Champion Junior Showman honors.
oo The Intermediate Showmanship division was led by Mason Bergthold, who claimed the class title and was subsequently named Champion Intermediate Showman. Landon Witherow received Reserve Champion Intermediate Showman honors.
oo In the Senior Showmanship competition, Jack Norfleet earned the class victory and was selected as Champion Senior Showman. Bailey Morgan was recognized as Reserve Champion Senior Showman.

Competition continued Wednesday at the Monroe County Fair with the annual Goat Show, where exhibitors demonstrated the quality of their animals and their dedication to livestock production and care. Youth from across northeast Missouri competed in dairy, pygmy, breeding, market, and showmanship classes.
In the Dairy Buck division, Payton Magruder of Clarence won the class for bucks born before January 1, 2026, while Larissa Larrick of Shelbina captured the class for bucks born before January 2, 2026. Larissa Larrick was named Overall Champion Dairy Buck, with Payton Magruder earning Reserve Champion honors.
The Dairy Doe competition featured Owen Kroes of Bevier winning the dry doe class for animals born April 1, 2025, or after, while Larissa Larrick won the senior doe class. Owen Kroes received Overall Champion Dairy Doe, and Larissa Larrick was named Reserve Champion Dairy Doe.
In the Pygmy Goat division, Peyson Larrick of Shelbina earned Reserve Champion Pygmy Doe and Champion Pygmy Buck honors.
The Breeding Doe classes were won by Jared Shuck of Perry (4 - 6 months), Finley Asbury of Perry (6 - 9 months), and Jacob Hayhurst (1 year). Champion Breeding Doe honors went to Finley Asbury, while Sawyer Asbury earned Reserve Champion. Additional overall placings included Jared Shuck in third, Harper Bondy in fourth, and Dax Dodge in fifth.
In the Breeding Buck division, Hadley Dodge won the 4 - 6 month class, while Jacob Hayhurst won the 1-year-old class. Hadley Dodge was selected as Champion Buck, with Jenna Snider receiving Reserve Champion honors.
The Market Goat competition featured class winners Hunter Buckman of Shelbina, Lorah Dodge, Anna James of Palmyra, Mackenzi Sclabach of Paris, Tatum Asbury of Perry, Sawyer Asbury of Perry, Averie Isgrig of Mexico, and Ryder Wren of Madison. Sawyer Asbury also won the Home Raised Market Goat class.
The show concluded with Showmanship competition, recognizing exhibitors for their ability to present and handle their animals in the show ring.

The Monroe County Fair Sheep Show was held Wednesday evening, bringing together exhibitors from across northeast Missouri to compete in a wide variety of breeding sheep classes. Judges evaluated the quality, structure, and overall presentation of breeding ewes and rams representing numerous breeds before selecting overall champions.
In the Dorper division, Levi Thompson of Fulton claimed top honors throughout the competition. Thompson won the Yearling Breeding Ewe class and was named Champion Dorper Breeding Ewe. He also won both the Yearling and Senior Lamb Breeding Ram classes, earning both Champion and Reserve Champion Dorper Breeding Ram honors.
The Dorset division featured Trenton Lauer of Fulton, who won the Junior Lamb Breeding Ewe class and was named Champion Dorset Breeding Ewe. Mackenzie Lauer of Fulton earned Reserve Champion Dorset Breeding Ewe, while Nolen Winkler of Clifton Hill captured the Junior Lamb Breeding Ram class and was named Champion Dorset Breeding Ram.
The Katahdin division showcased strong competition. Gage Schmidt of Centralia won the Yearling Breeding Ewe class, Kasen Shuck of Perry claimed the Senior Lamb class, and Ariella Clampitt of Madison won the Junior Lamb class. Kasen Shuck was selected as Champion Katahdin Breeding Ewe, while Gage Schmidt earned Reserve Champion honors. Schmidt also swept the Breeding Ram division by winning the Yearling, Senior Lamb, and Junior Lamb classes before being named both Champion and Reserve Champion Katahdin Breeding Ram.
Etta Eckler of Shelbyville won the Natural Colored Breeding Ewe division and was named champion.
In the Shropshire division, Lane Falch of Fulton dominated the competition, winning the Yearling, Senior Lamb, and Junior Lamb classes before earning both Champion and Reserve Champion Shropshire Breeding Ewe honors.
The Southdown division was led by Cooper Belt of Leonard, who swept the breeding ewe classes and was named both Champion and Reserve Champion Southdown Breeding Ewe. Belt also won the Senior Lamb Breeding Ram class and earned Champion Southdown Breeding Ram, while Etta Eckler received Reserve Champion Southdown Breeding Ram honors.
Gunner Schmidt of Centralia captured both Textile Breeding Ewe classes and the Textile Breeding Ram class to earn Champion Textile Breeding Sheep honors.
In the All Other Meat Breeding Ewe division, Aaralynn Willard was named Champion.
The Whiteface Cross Breeding Ewe division saw Keller O'Bryan of Philadelphia earn Champion honors, with Adeline Bondy of Paris receiving Reserve Champion.
The Crossbred Breeding Ewe division featured multiple class winners, with Keller O'Bryan ultimately being named Champion and Reserve Champion Crossbred Breeding Ewe.

One of the busiest days of the Monroe County Fair got Thursday underway with the annual Swine Show, followed later in the day by the Master Showman Contest, where top exhibitors showcased their livestock knowledge and handling abilities across multiple species.
The Swine Show featured competition in boar, gilt, and crossbred classes, with exhibitors from across northeast Missouri competing for breed and overall championship honors.
In the Boar competition, Brody Griffith of Centralia won the Hampshire January Boar class and was named Champion Hampshire Boar. Tucker Robnett of Laddonia captured the Yorkshire Senior Boar class and earned the title of Champion Yorkshire Boar.
Following the breed championships, Brody Griffith was selected as Grand Champion Boar, while Tucker Robnett received Reserve Grand Champion Boar honors.
The Berkshire Gilt division featured class winners Anniston Curtis of Thompson, Klara Adams of Centralia, Maylee Tiemann of Hallsville, and Pearson Bohr of Martinsburg. Anniston Curtis earned Champion Berkshire Gilt, while Makayla McCurdy of Wellsville was named Reserve Champion Berkshire Gilt.
In the Duroc Gilt division, Brenden Johnson of Centralia won the December Gilt class, while Colton Lute captured the January Gilt class. Brenden Johnson was named Champion Duroc Gilt, with Addison Fish of Shelbina receiving Reserve Champion honors.
The Hampshire Gilt title went to Meridyth Wise of Vandalia, while Makayla McCurdy earned Reserve Champion Hampshire Gilt.
Brody Griffith claimed the Champion Poland China Gilt title after winning the Poland China December Gilt class.
In the Spot Gilt division, Greenley Curtis of Thompson earned Champion Spot Gilt, with Brock Watson of Lentner receiving Reserve Champion honors.
Tucker Robnett won the Yorkshire Senior Gilt class and was named Champion Yorkshire Gilt.
The All Other Breeds (AOB) division was won by Klara Adams, who earned Champion AOB Gilt.

Following the class competition, Mesa Tiemann of Hallsville was selected as Champion Dark Crossbred Gilt. Karsen Johnson earned Reserve Champion Dark Crossbred Gilt honors.

The evening included the Sale Dinner, the Clover Kid Show, and the County Fair Awards. It concluded with the annual Livestock and Ham/Bacon Sale, where buyers once again showed tremendous support for local youth and their agricultural projects.
The fair wrapped up Friday with the rescheduled Horse Show and that evening with a community Movie Night, hosted by Regional Bank, providing families with a relaxing opportunity to celebrate another successful fair week together.

In Horsemanship, Bree Stowers captured the 14 and Older division, while Sydney Spieckermann of Madison won the 13 and Under class. Lorah Dodge of Perry claimed top honors in the Novice Horsemanship division.
The Western Pleasure classes were won by Bree Stowers (14 and Older), Gavin Stowers (13 and Under), and Brycelyn Stowers (Novice).
Competition continued with Ranch Riding, where Mackenzie Lauer won the 14 and Older division, Garon Stowers topped the 13 and Under class, and Lorah Dodge earned the Novice division title.
